Agricultural Employers Association (AEA)’s CEO was represented by Asst. Manager Mr. Gibson Cheruiyot in a meeting with Agriculture, Livestock and fisheries CECM Hon. Leonard Bor to discuss areas of collaboration between the Association and the County Government of Nakuru.
The meeting which was also attended by representatives from various farms within the Association’s membership among them Mr. Seth Angatia of Fontana Ltd, Mr. Ian Ouda of Megaspin group and Mr. Wafula of Flora Ola Ltd was meant to help increase agricultural productivity in the County.
The collaboration will also strengthen the relationship between the two bodies which is a big achievement to the membership of the Association and especially those within the County.
Some of the efforts being made so far by the administration of the current County government to support both the small holder and large scale farmers include the implementation of the "Imarisha Barabara Program" which will help open feeder roads. This will help in reducing the cost of production to the farmers.
This is in addition to ensuring easy access to farm inputs especially the subsidized fertilizer by farmers across the County.
It was positively noted that the department of Agriculture is open for collaborations to grow the sector and create economic impact.
