It was all joy and jubilation as the Association accompanied by its members, friends, partners and family members visited House of Mercy to deliver mobilized funds and other non-monetary good s to mark its 2023 CSR project.
The event which was held at House of Mercy Children’s Home in Githurai 45 in Nairobi was attended by member representatives drawn from different sectors of the Association and graced by the 2023 CSR Ambassador Dr. Isabelle Spindler whose role was pivotal in mobilization of funds ensuring the project was a success.
This came nearly three weeks after the Association brought together its members, partners and friends to hike Mt. Kilimambogo in a bid to create awareness on abandoned and orphaned kids and promote a safe, healthy and loving haven for children.
Speaking during the event, Dr. Spindler urged the children and management of the home to cultivate a culture of good planning as it helps in personal development and growth.
This was not only the 6th CSR since the Association started the projects in 2016, but also the best compared to the other years. The great efforts of members and partners coupled by their generosity saw a realization of Ksh. 3M of cash contributions and other non-monetary goods of a significant value.
The Association wishes to thank all the people who joined and the companies represented in the event and most importantly for their kind donations in cash and in kind. The funds will be applied to change lives of the children while the awareness created on orphaned and abandoned kids will see many come out and rescue children and support in whatever way possible including adoption.
Special thanks to Dr. Isabelle Spindler for the huge support she offered throughout the entire process ensuring that the target was realized and surpassed. Through her efforts and support by members, children of House of Mercy revived their hope and can confidently look forward to the future. This is because the donation will keep those children in school, the donation will ensure they don’t sleep on an empty stomach and that kind donation will transform lives!
House of Mercy Children’s Home was started in 2000 in Githurai 45, Nairobi after an act of feeding some street children as well as teaching them the word of God that led to an establishment of a relationship. Among the many fed, few children decided not to go back to the street and House of Mercy children’s home was born.
The Home today exits to rescue and offer care and protection to children by providing, shelter, food, clothing and personal necessities, health, education, recreation, family reunification and religious observance. The home provides a safe, healthy and loving haven for over sixty five children, who have either been orphaned, destitute, HIV/AIDs, abandoned, abused (physical assault/ defilement) and those with physical disabilities.
