The second and final day of the Association’s Labour Forum concluded today in Naivasha, bringing to a close two days of engaging dialogue, legal insights and forward-looking discussions for professionals in the agricultural sector.
A major highlight of the day was a detailed session by Justice Onesmus Makau of the Employment and Labour Relations Court. The Judge took participants through Emerging Legal Issues in the Employment and Labour Sector – Court Perspectives and Precedents, focusing on:How courts are interpreting evolving employment and labour laws in Kenya, Key judicial trends and landmark rulings on fair termination, redundancy, outsourcing and other emerging issues and Practical guidance on how court decisions continue to shape HR practices, workplace compliance, and managerial decision-making
His session offered rare and valuable courtroom perspective, giving employers deeper clarity on navigating Kenya’s complex and evolving labour environment.
The forum also featured an insightful presentation by Dr. Francis Kangure, CEO of HR Digital Consulting, on Future-Ready Workforces: Harnessing AI, Digital Skills, and Green Talent for Sustainable Growth. His major highlights were; AI and digital skills as essential drivers of organisational transformation, The growing need for data literacy, wellbeing, and human-centered resilience and The expanding role of ESG, green talent, and sustainability in shaping future workforce models.
His session challenged organisations to rethink their talent strategies and prepare employees for rapidly changing work structures.
In closing the forum, the Association Chairman appreciated the strong participation and expressed gratitude to members for their ongoing support. Participants commended the coordination, relevance of topics and high-quality facilitation, describing the forum as timely, engaging and beyond expectations.
