NANYUKI FORUM HIGHLIGHTS EMERGING WORKPLACE RISKS AND COMPLIANCE IMPERATIVES

The Association held a successful forum in Nanyuki, bringing together over 30 professionals drawn from across the agricultural industry. The forum focused on emerging workplace risks at the intersection of law, sustainability and technology, underscoring the growing complexity of modern employment relations.

The training, themed around emerging areas of employment law and compliance, offered participants a comprehensive view of contemporary risk management. Hon. Justice Onesmus Makau (ELRC) provided critical insights into how courts assess workplace disputes, emphasizing judicial expectations on fairness, due process and employer accountability.

Participants also benefited from forward-looking perspectives on the future of work. Dr. Francis Kangure highlighted the rise of green jobs and sustainable workforce models, while Dr. Bright Gameli a Ghanian expert addressed cybersecurity risks in the workplace, focusing on employer obligations in an increasingly digital environment.

The sessions were expertly anchored by the Association’s Ms. Jennifer Wachira, who unpacked emerging legal issues, translated statutory requirements into practical workplace applications and shared actionable solutions employers can adopt to strengthen compliance and proactively manage risk.

The overarching message from the forum was clear: proactive compliance is no longer optional-it is a governance imperative. Employers were encouraged to move beyond reactive dispute management and embed compliance, sustainability and technology awareness into their core organizational strategies.

The Association thanks all members who participated and continues to remain committed to supporting employers through timely, relevant, and practical engagements.
