The Agricultural Employers Association (AEA), in partnership with the Mediation Training Institute International(MTI), East Africa has successfully conducted a five-day mediation skills training for Directors, HR Managers and other management staff drawn from member organizations.
The training equipped participants with practical skills in alternative dispute resolution, enabling them to handle workplace conflicts, grievances, and employee relations matters more effectively and efficiently. The program marks the first major activity following the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two organizations aimed at strengthening conflict management capacity within the agricultural sector.
Participants underwent intensive learning combining practical simulations and guided sessions, empowering them to resolve disputes internally before escalation, improve workplace harmony, and support productivity across their organizations.
To expand access to this valuable knowledge, the Association will now roll out quarterly regional mediation trainings to allow more members to participate. Details and dates for upcoming sessions will be communicated in due course and members are encouraged to register early once announcements are made.
The Association extends its appreciation to all participants who attended the inaugural training and expresses confidence that the knowledge gained will be applied effectively in their workplaces for better industrial relations and sustainable operations.
