The Board Induction Meeting was successfully held at the AEA offices on 26th June 2026, bringing together newly appointed Board Members for an orientation designed to equip them with the knowledge and understanding required to effectively carry out their board governance responsibilities. The meeting served as an important milestone in preparing the Board to provide strategic leadership and oversight in advancing the Association's mission and objectives.
Board Members were taken through roles and responsibilities of the Board ,the Secretariat and Board Committees ,highlighting the importance of accountability,transparency and ethical leadership .The Induction Meeting also covered the Association's constitutional and legal framework, financial oversight responsibilities, risk management, policy compliance, and decision-making processes. Presentations provided insights into the Association's current programmes, achievements, opportunities, and key priorities, enabling Board Members to better understand the operating environment and the strategic issues requiring their leadership.
Throughout the induction meeting, The board members actively engaged in discussions, shared experiences, and deliberated on various governance matters. The interactive nature of the meeting encouraged collaboration and strengthened the Board's commitment to effective governance, sound decision-making, and collective leadership.
The induction concluded with a shared commitment by the Board Members to uphold the Association's values, work collaboratively with the Secretariat, and provide strategic direction that will contribute to the continued growth, sustainability, and success of the Association.
