The Association, represented by Ms. Margaret Mbuthia successfully participated in the negotiation of Terms and Conditions of Employment for the Marginpar-Kariki Group and Carzan Flowers. The negotiations, held at the group’s Nakuru KS Farm, were geared toward implementing the agreed terms for the next one year.
The meeting brought together Welfare Chairpersons from all seven farms, alongside key HR leadership including People & Culture Director Ms. Joanelose Mwangi, Compensation & Benefits Manager Ms. Mercy Gatuku, Senior HR Manager Ms. Catherine Kuria and Mr. David Rimpa, HR in charge of Employee Relations. The session marked a significant milestone in the history of collective negotiations within the group.
A major highlight of the negotiations was the harmonization of salaries across the group, effectively streamlining pay structures and bridging any existing disparities.
In her opening remarks, Ms. Joanelose Mwangi emphasized the importance of conducting negotiations with fairness and equality, acknowledging the impact of the prevailing economic challenges on both employers and employees.
This agreement becomes the first set of employee terms and conditions under AEA membership to be concluded in 2025 ahead of ongoing negotiations in the Ranchers and Conservancies, Horticulture, Floriculture and Botanical (HFB) sectors, and other individual CBAs.
