Our client based in Laikipia County seeks to fill the following vacancy that has arisen in their company:

VACANCY: GENERAL MANAGER

Reporting to the Director, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting in the development of organization policies and goals that cover operations, personnel, financial performance, and growth of the functions and/or farm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing short-term and long-term plans and budgets for the marketing program and its activities, monitoring progress, ensuring adherence, and evaluating the performance of all employees.
  • Developing, coordinating, and overseeing programs, technical assistance, and resource materials to assist in all departments.
  • Developing and maintaining a strategic perspective, based on clients’ needs and satisfaction and ensuring the overall health and vitality of the organization.
  • Developing policy recommendations for the Director’s action and providing highly responsible administrative support to the Director
  • Identifying business opportunities that will result in increased revenues and general growth of business.
  • Ensuring that all activities and operations are performed in compliance with the Labour laws and all relevant legislations.
  • Providing an in-depth analysis and reviewing the business regularly to help the company make policy decisions and devise ways of achieving efficiency and economical business operations.
  • Providing the necessary leadership and guidance to all employees through mentoring and identification of best practices to enhance performance excellence.
  • Exercising direct supervision over assigned management personnel and ensuring that the team is adequately trained both in functional and behavioral aspects regularly.

Desired Qualifications, skills and experience;

The job holder must possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, PR and Communication, Finance, or any other related field.
  • At least 5 years of management experience in agriculture or in the manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge in financial management.
  • Competent in computers including experience in ERP programs.
  • Solid experience with HR management of at least 3 years.
  • Very good communication skills and ability to deal with conflict and other difficult situations between people-Be a problem solver
  • Experience with logistics and administrative work.
  • Experience with PR and dealing with people from government Administration.

Our client based in Laikipia County seeks to fill the following vacancy that has arisen in their company:

VACANCY: CROP PROTECTION AND IRRIGATION MANAGER

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all the activities from crop monitoring including scouting and water use through planning and coordinating spray programs, irrigation and feeding programs to ensure the crops are kept pest and disease free and growing to their maximum potential. The role will report to the Production Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparing Crops Scouting Programs and setting these up throughout the crops.
  • Training up junior crop scouts and supervisors so they can be completely conversant with pest and disease identification and how to record these objectively and accurately and in a manner that they can be used to monitor pest and disease levels uniformly.
  • Physically carrying out scouting and reporting on these.
  • Preparing spray programs using the muddy boots soft ware and crop walker to address the pest and disease problems detected in the field and working with the spray manager to ensure these are applied correctly.
  • Monitoring the efficacy of the sprays and compiling reports to allow the spray programs to improve over time.
  • Double check and assist in training the sprayers on safe use of pesticides and also spray techniques to improve efficacy and cover the global GAP standards.
  • Prepare fertilizer plans in advance using the muddy boots software and crop walker in accordance with the SOP for each crop.
  • To operate the fertigation unit (Netafilm Fertikit NMC-Junior). So that the correct EC and PH of fertilizer and amounts of fertiliser are reaching each green house.
  • To assist the management in auditing chemical stores and fertiliser stores.
  • To prepare all the relevant reports requested by the MD and section managers to enable them to make good management decisions.
