TRAINING ON PRE-RETIREMENT AT OL-NJOROWA Employment separation preparedness is a long-term process. There are many issues involved, for example, health, pension, social security, life and health insurance, financial planning and dealing with the emotions relating to separation. The Association successfully conducted a two-day pre-retirement training at Ol Njorowa, which was highly impactful. We sincerely appreciate the company for selecting the Association as their trusted training partner.
NANYUKI FORUM HIGHLIGHTS EMERGING WORKPLACE RISKS AND COMPLIANCE IMPERATIVE The Association held a successful forum in Nanyuki, bringing together over 30 professionals drawn from across the agricultural industry. The forum focused on emerging workplace risks at the intersection of law, sustainability and technology, underscoring the growing complexity of modern employment relations.
COURTESY VISIT BY FKE REGIONAL COORDINATOR The FKE Regional Coordinator, Mr. Richard Meli, paid a courtesy visit on AEA during which key areas of potential collaboration within the region were discussed. These included joint training initiatives, membership outreach and growth, Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) and broader Industrial Relations matters.
VISIT BY NAOMI’S VILLAGE REPRESENTATIVE TO AEA Following the 2025 CSR initiative to raise funds for Naomi's Village in Naromoru, one of the Directors of the home, Mr. Simon Njaria, paid a courtesy visit to the AEA offices to express appreciation to the Association and its members for mobilizing funds in support of the home. Mr. Simon conveyed his gratitude for the generosity and solidarity demonstrated by AEA members, noting the positive impact of the support on the home and its beneficiaries. AEA reaffirmed its commitment to continued social responsibility and community support initiatives that uplift vulnerable groups. AEA COURTSERY VISIT TO UKRAINIAN AMBASSADOR The AEA CEO, together with the Association’s Legal Manager and the Finance Manger, paid a courtesy visit to the Ukrainian Ambassador in Nairobi to explore areas of mutual collaboration. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral engagement, potential partnerships, and opportunities for cooperation of mutual interest. The visit underscored AEA’s commitment to building strategic international relationships that support sector growth, knowledge exchange, and sustainable development.
AEA COURTESY CALL ON THE REGISTRAR OF TRADE UNIONS
The AEA CEO Mr. Wesley Siele, accompanied by the Association’s Manager Ms. Jennifer Wachira, paid a courtesy call on the Registrar of Trade Unions, Madam Ann Kanake, at her office in Nairobi. The meeting provided an opportunity for AEA to reaffirm its commitment to constructive engagement with the Office of the Registrar and to discuss matters of mutual interest relating to labour relations, compliance, and the evolving industrial relations landscape. The Registrar commended AEA for its continued role in promoting harmonious employer–employee relations within the sector, while AEA appreciated the guidance and support offered by the Registrar’s office in strengthening compliance and good industrial practices.
AEA CONCLUDES AND SIGNS RANCHERS AND CONSERVANCIES CBA The Association has successfully concluded negotiations and signed a new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for the Ranchers and Conservancies sector with the Kenya Plantation and Agricultural Workers Union (KPAWU). The agreement will run for the period 2025 to 2027.
