Vacancy: PRODUCTION MANAGER

Agricultural Employers Association commonly known as AEA was started in 1962 and registered in 1966 as an Association representing the collective interests of Employers in the Agricultural industry in matters connected with Employment of Labour. The AEA is an affiliate member of KEPSA, KAM and ASNET.

 

Our client involved in the controlled cultivation and the gentle post-harvest treatment (drying, cleaning, packaging) of medicinal and spice-plants seeks to fill the following vacancy that has arisen in their company:

Vacancy: PRODUCTION MANAGER

The successful candidate will be responsible for the main cultivation and processing site in Naivasha, Kenya. The role will report to the Managing Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Technical management and leadership of the post-harvest production team.
  • Responsible for the entire manufacturing area (planning, drying, processing, separation, packaging, and logistics) as well as the entire facility management (buildings, technology, machinery, and data).
  • Optimization and stabilization of existing production processes with the aim of improving quality and efficiency.
  • Responsible for seamless documentation of all work steps in accordance with GACP and internal standards.
  • Budget and investment planning and control.
  • Development and analysis of key performance indicators and statistics.
  • Participation in the management of the production fields (production planning, crop rotation, field establishment, weed management, harvest schedule)
  • Further development and optimization of the infrastructure and the fabrication facility on site.
  • Advancing digitization (ERP/specific farm software).

 

Desired Qualifications, skills and experience;

  • Minimum Degree or Diploma in Agriculture or Horticulture
  • At least 5 years of practical professional experience in horticulture production.
  • Experience in large-scale, organic cultivation of special crops such as vegetables, herbs, tea, or spice plants.
  • Experience in a business that either has an export market or works within certified industry standards.
  • Experience in technological post-harvest treatment as well as in the digitization / documentation of processes.
  • Experience with logistics.
  • Good MS Office skills; experience with ERP systems or farm tracking software
  • Distinct strengths in precise work, organization, and complex planning tasks.
