VACANCY: HEAD OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

Agricultural Employers Association commonly known as AEA was started in 1962 as an Association representing the collective interests of Employers in the Agricultural industry in matters connected with Employment of Labour. The AEA is an affiliate member of FKE, KEPSA, KAM and ASNET.

 Our client; a Conservancy based in Laikipia dealing with sustainable conservation, livestock programme, productive rangeland management, community cooperation and responsible tourism seeks to fill the following vacancy that has arisen in their company:

VACANCY: HEAD OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a dynamic team, managing budgets, collaborating with stakeholders and ensuring the successful delivery of programs’ objectives. He/She will be responsible for driving innovation, maximizing efficiency, and achieving measurable outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote the company and enhance visibility through the outcomes of the Social Assessment of Protected Areas (SAPA)
  • Network and develop partnerships that will strengthen Company’s communications and social impact.
  • Advance Company’s public relationships.
  • Promote peace, coexistence, and sustainability amongst the neighboring communities.
  • Communicate Company’s work, activities and achievements in the various social media platforms.
  • Support in the running and administering the Company’s Micro-enterprise Fund and Grants.
  • Support in the running of the various conservation projects.
  • Provide weekly, end month and annual reports to management.

 Desired Qualifications, skills and experience;

The job applicant must possess:

  • A degree in social science or equivalent or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in administering community and conservation programs.
  • Highly motivated individual with a high level of integrity and moral character who leads by example and is able to demonstrate strong leadership and management skills.
  • Approachable, proactive, creative, and ambition to grow with an organization;
  • Develop outputs and products to strengthen the visibility and reach of the company as an organization, including updates on news, activities and impacts.
  • Excellent communications skills for engaging with local communities, government officials, and stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including donors, partners, and community members.
  • Basic understanding of financial management.
