Agricultural Employers’ Association commonly known as AEA was started in 1962 and registered in 1966 as an Association representing the collective interests of Employers in the Agricultural industry in matters connected with Employment of Labour. The AEA is an affiliate member of KEPSA, FKE, KAM and ASNET.

 

A flower farm based in Naivasha is seeking a results-oriented individual to join their team:

VACANCY: HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER

The role holder will provide Strategic Business Partnership to the Management and collaborate with other Team Leaders to ensure effective implementation of the HR strategy. The HR Manager will be responsible for effective delivery of key HR projects and processes in the farm while enhancing seamless experience for the staff and other organization stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Support: Working with stakeholders to develop and implement strategic plans that align with organizational objectives by creating a coherent framework for employees to be hired, managed, and developed to support the organization’s long-term goals. Partner with management to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with business initiatives.
  • Data Analytics: Provide HR metrics analysis and insights to support decision-making and resource allocation through the collection and application of talent data to improve critical talent and business outcomes.
  • Performance Management: Executing strategies, processes, and approaches related to integrated performance management geared to drive a high-performance culture.
  • Change Management: Supporting organizational change initiatives by ensuring that employees are engaged and informed throughout the process and that everyone is aligned with the company's vision and goals.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensuring HR practices are in compliance with the relevant laws and are aligned with the organization’s culture through identification and analyzing potential risks and developing mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity and resilience.
  • Collaboration: Fostering collaboration by creating an environment that encourages open communication, knowledge sharing, and mutual support, between departments to drive cross-functional initiatives and projects.
  • Stakeholder Management: Identifying, understanding, and prioritizing the needs and expectations of key stakeholders to achieve their desired outcomes effectively.
  • Disciplinary and Conflict Resolution & employee relations: Investigate employee issues and conflicts and bring them to resolution.
  • Labour relations: Handling all labour and union matters
  • Policy Development: Formulation and development of the organization’s HR Policies in compliance with all local and certification regulations. Health and Safety
  • Welfare Management: Coordination and management of staff welfare and welfare committees.
  • Training & Development: Assessment of training needs and facilitation and coordination of trainings in line with the training policy.
  • Leave management: Ensure leave policy is adhered to and manage leave liability in liaison with Line Managers.
  • Employees record management: Management and regular updating of employee data and maintenance of employee’s files. Ensuring accurate and proper record-keeping of employee information in electronic and digital format.
  • Reporting: Preparation and sharing of Monthly HR/ People Reports (updated dashboard/ metrics) with key stakeholders.
  • Health and safety: Overseeing the health and safety of all employees and ensuring the Company is compliant with all the health and safety regulations.
  • Reward Management: Providing support on company events as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency, driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
  • Budgeting: Formulation of annual HR budgets
  • Any other related duty that may be allocated from time to time.

Desired Qualifications, skills and experience;

The job holder must possess:

  • CHRP-(K) Certification/ or Equivalent
  • IHRM Membership-In good standing
  • Minimum 5 years of HR Management
  • Managing trade unions and welfare committees experience will be an added advantage.
