JOB ADVERT- CLERK OF WORKS/CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR

Agricultural Employers Association commonly known as AEA was started in 1962 and registered in 1966 under the Trade Union’s Act Cap 233 as an Association representing the collective interests of employers in the Agricultural industry in matters connected with Employment of Labour. The AEA is an affiliate member of KEPSA, KAM and ASNET.

Our client based in Nanyuki seeks to hire a self-driven and result oriented candidate to fill the role.

Duties and responsibilities.

  1. To supervise and lead all maintenance programs, processes and operations.
  2. Develop a comprehensive road, buildings, bridges & airfields rehabilitation and maintenance program;
  3. Plan, co-ordinate & supervise the maintenance and construction of boundary fences & exclusion zones;
  4. Develop and maintain fire mitigation plan with key focus on establishing fire breaks & maintenance of firefighting equipment and perform as a fire marshal in times of fires and other emergencies
  5. Ensure that adequate water is provided to necessary end users at Organization and that intake, pipelines and water tanks are regularly maintained;
  6. Oversee the recycling management programme for Organization;
  7. Monitor electrical and solar systems of facilities to ensure functionality
  8. Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary
  9. Ensure that designated buildings, plant and facilities are fit for purpose and to provide proactive support/solutions when required
  10. Preparing and implement the maintenance and infrastructure budget.
  11. Conducting regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems.
  12. Ensuring all department workers adhere to the safety policies and procedures.
  13. Identifying and implementing a proactive maintenance strategy that ensures efficient operations
  14. Develop standard operating procedures for all maintenance work
  15. Ensuring that all maintenance processes are consistent with industry regulations and OSHA standards.
  16. Manage of consultants, subcontractors and other vendors for specialized maintenance work 
  17. Identifying and implementing a proactive maintenance strategy that ensures efficient operations
  18. Performing inspections and oversight of maintenance work to ensure quality

Minimum Qualifications

The job holder must possess:

  1. Degree in Electrical/ Building or Civil Engineering;
  2. 3 years relevant working experience;
  3. Must have AutoCAD Skills
  4. Demonstrable leadership skills;
  5. Effective analytical problem-solving skills;
  6. Good communication and report writing skills.
