Agricultural Employers Association commonly known as AEA was started in 1962 and registered in 1966 as an Association representing the collective interests of Employers in the Agricultural industry in matters connected with Employment of Labour. The AEA is an affiliate member of KEPSA, KAM and ASNET.
Our client seeks to fill the above vacancy that has arisen in their company
The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and coordination of all accounting and financial responsibilities within the Company. This role will also focus on general procurement for the company and the co-ordination of all logistics operations for the Company. The role will report to the Managing Director.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintaining the accounts of the Company
- Preparation and execution of the monthly payroll
- Compliance with all government bodies, tax authorities and third party certification bodies
- Negotiating on behalf of the company to ensure that suppliers and service providers offer competitive prices and rates.
- Working with staff who manage the company stores to guarantee that stocks of consumables are constantly managed and maintained
- Planning exports and imports according to stocks of produce and annual plans
- Managing all company logistics
- Receive, check and upload invoices for payment. Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Audit financial transactions and documents
- Track and categorise income, expenses, cash flows and other day to day accounts according to current systems. Prepare accounts and tax returns. Monitor spendings and annual budget. Analyse financial performance. Advise on how to reduce costs and increase profit
- Prepare the monthly payroll and submit to head office for funding in time for employees to be paid at the end of each month
- Work constantly to ensure that the Company is compliant with all government, union and third-party agencies. This will include KRA, Trade Unions, the Agricultural Employer’s Association CBA, Eco-cert, GACP, Fair Trade and Rainforest Alliance.
- Responsible for tracking, allocating and re-ordering all materials that are required for production
- Monitoring the stock levels of produce and planning exports in a regular and timely fashion.
- Manage logistics; this includes planning, regular feedback, operating with a sense of urgency and sufficient preparation to ensure that all imports and exports are smooth, cost effective and efficient
- Work with suppliers to ensure that the Company receives prices and services that are second to none
- Fixed asset accounting. Monitor investment, depreciations/scrapping and impairment tests
- Implementation and upkeep of a warehouse management system.
Desired Qualifications, skills and experience;
- Minimum Degree or Diploma in Finance/Accounting and/or Business Management and a fully qualified CPA K
- Experience of at least 5 years in accounts
- Experience and/or education in purchasing, supply chain, logistics or operations management will be an added advantage

- High level of computer literacy (Microsoft office).
- ERP systems and warehouse management experience.
