VACANCY: MARKETING MANAGER

Agricultural Employers Association commonly known as AEA was started in 1962 and registered in 1966 under the Trade Union’s Act Cap 233 as an Association representing the collective interests of employers in the Agricultural industry in matters connected with Employment of Labour. It is    affiliated to KEPSA, KAM and ASNET.

 

Our client based in Thika seeks to fill the following vacancy that has arisen in their company:

Vacancy: MARKETING MANAGER

The candidate should be passionate, motivated and experienced. They shall plan and oversee the organization’s marketing activities and ensure that all marketing objectives are successful in meeting the goals set by the organization.

 

Salary Budget: Ksh. 350,000- Ksh. 400,000 gross per month.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for developing, implementing and executing strategic marketing plans for the entire organization in order to attract potential customers and retain existing ones.
  • A great business and marketing leader on whom the board will count on for profitability and results.
  • Responsible for working with the board and the top executives to determine budgets and targets and developing pricing strategies for products and services.
  • To be part of a larger marketing, creative, communications and digital team playing a critical role in aligning creative direction with the company’s strategic goals

 

KEY ROLES

  • Introduce and develop demand for flowers in new markets. Aim to have 5 anchor customers each taking between 15% and 25% of the product.
  • Diversify both geographical and currency spread of the market.
  • Expand and develop marketing platforms for the products in the international markets.
  • Conduct economic and commercial surveys to identify potential markets for the flowers and then penetrate those markets
  • Develop a pricing strategy for new markets and potential customers in collaboration with the Farm manager and Finance department
  • Participate in price setting in conjunction with Sales team on available volumes during low season and high season for new markets.
  • Gather market intelligence and monitor market trends and assessing demand for current flower varieties.
  • Advise on national and international factors affecting the buying and selling of the flowers and provide recommendations on any factors that may bring future challenges.
  • Analyze data to evaluate the success of the marketing efforts and come up with new ideas to improve brand marketing and exposure.
  • Through consultation with the market, determine the best new varieties to introduce into the market.
  • Updating the company website with new products and systems.
  • Any other duties that may be allocated to you by management

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Must have a Degree/Diploma in Market Research, Marketing or any related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of work experience of which at least 5 years should be in a marketing position in the flower industry.
  • International experience and knowledge in international flower trade.
  • Must have Five years in sale of flowers -Floriculture experience (key-advantage).
  • Must be creative and Innovative.Intimate understanding of traditional and emerging marketing channel.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively
  • Budget-management skills and proficiency
  • Professional judgment and discretion that comes from years of experience in the field
  • Analytical skills to forecast and identify trends and challenges
  • Familiarity with the latest trends, technologies and methodologies in graphic design, web design, production, etc.
  •  Branding knowledge and experience.
  • Language, English is a must, any of the following languages will be an added advantage Dutch, French, polish or Germany.
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Must have good marketing skills (product development)

 

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS  
  • Increase in sales revenue, executives count on them for profitability and results
  • Reduction of flower discard levels of flowers to a maximum of 5%.
  • Increase new customer count or numbers per month.
  • All New Customers have to be retained.
  • New Customer satisfaction and feedback
