He however expressed concerns over the significant financial strain the  agricultural sector is facing  worsened by the delayed refund of Value Added Tax (VAT) by the government. He urged the government to consider alleviating the tax burden on farmers by offsetting some of the taxes they are currently paying.

In conclusion, he thanked all members for the support offered to him during his tenure and requested them to extend the same to the incoming office.

The Chief Guest; Justice Fredrick Ochieng in his speech emphasized on the different ways people can resolve disputes without a trial by appreciating that Alternative Dispute Resolutions (ADR) can be used to settle disagreements with the help of a third party.

He encouraged members to embrace mediation as an alternative mechanism as it promotes good relationships in industrial Relations.

The Association wishes to thank all its members for making the 61st AGM a success through their presence and participation.

Theme:  Providing a safe, healthy and loving haven for abandoned and destitute children

Dear Member,

AEA believes in instilling happiness and hope in hopeless situations by giving back to the society through CSR activities. This in the past years has been successful because of your immense support and contribution.

In a bid to create awareness on abandoned and orphaned kids and promote a safe, healthy and loving haven for children, the Association in partnership with its members, friends, families and well wishers took to Mt. Kilimambogo on a hike in its 2023 CSR. The hike was dedicated to the House of Mercy Children’s Home and was also meant to raise funds for the children.

It’s 2022 and business environment is changing, so the phrase “time is money” is more actual than ever. For this reason, conflicts amongst employees, between employers and employees resolved by the court represent additional costs and time lost. This calls, increasingly, to alternative methods of solving conflicts from the system of ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution), among which mediation is distinguished, seen as an alternative to traditional justice, faster, efficient, confidential, and above all, less expensive.

For this reason and many others, the Agricultural employers’ Association (AEA) invites you to participate in an Open-House Training geared towards strengthening the capacity of your leadership team on managing conflicts in your company.
