JOB OPPORTUNITY-DRYER SUPERVISOR

Agricultural Employers Association commonly known as AEA was started in 1962 and registered in 1966 as an Association representing the collective interests of Employers in the Agricultural industry in matters connected with Employment of Labour. The AEA is an affiliate member of KEPSA, KAM and ASNET.

 

Our client involved in the controlled cultivation and the gentle post-harvest treatment (drying, cleaning, packaging) of medicinal and spice-plants seeks to fill the following vacancy that has arisen in their company:

Vacancy: DRYER SUPERVISOR

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all the activities from preparing the dryers up to offloading the dryers. The role will report to the Production Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that raw data is recorded accurately and on time.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the driers
  • Proper and up to date record for data logger
  • Accurate record for all dried crops
  • Ensure sufficient wood chip, crotons or macadamia shells are available for drying purposes.
  • Ensuring that there are 2 to 3 shifts per day to ensure maximum utilisation of the driers to ease backlog.
  • Routine checks for damages in the driers and informing the Technical team immediately
  • Ensure that all persons operating machinery have received basic training for the machine
  • Work with QA department to ensure all the required data, SDs and SOPs are up to date.
  • Work with the quality department to ensure that all machinery records are kept up to date.
  • Ensure that the machines are cleaned before and after use. Also, to ensure that all organic and conventional crops are handled as per the SOPS and SDS.
  • Coordinate with the production team on harvesting plans as per the available driers.
  • Ensure proper PPE has been issued and is being used by all employees

  • Certificate / Diploma in General Agriculture
  • Computer literate
  • Independent, target-oriented, dependable, flexible, reliable, enthusiastic
  • Leadership experience

  • Good communicator
  • Strategic thinking
  • Willingness to engage in further training
  • Very good computer skills
